Rental Terms and Conditions
Vehicle Condition and Return:
Upon receipt of the vehicle, the renter confirms that it is in the condition documented in the contract. FAST AND EASY RENT A CAR certifies that the vehicle has passed all required internal, external, and mechanical inspections. The renter agrees to return the vehicle—including all tools, wheels, and accessories—in the same condition at the designated location specified in this agreement. Failure to return the vehicle to the agreed location and to a company representative will be considered abandonment, subject to legal consequences for any resulting damages or outstanding financial obligations.
Driver’s Age:
The minimum age requirement is 23 years for drivers holding license categories B and C1, and 25 years for all other categories. The maximum age limit is 75 years.
Driver’s License:
The driver must have held a valid driver’s license for at least 2 years. For licenses issued outside the EU and the UK, an International Driving Permit is required.
Fines and Administrative Charges:
The renter is responsible for complying with all traffic regulations and for paying any fines incurred during the rental period, regardless of whether such charges are levied after the rental expires.
Cancellations:
- Cancellation made at least 7 days prior to the reservation will receive a full refund.
- Cancellation made 1 to 6 days before the reservation will incur a charge equivalent to one day’s rental.
- Cancellation made less than 24 hours before the reservation, or failure to collect the vehicle, will result in the full rental charge.
Mileage:
All rental rates include unlimited mileage.
Road Assistance:
All vehicles are covered by 24-hour roadside assistance.
Accidents:
In the event of an accident, the renter must promptly notify both FAST AND EASY RENT A CAR and the local police. Failure to do so will result in the renter assuming full responsibility for any subsequent liabilities.
Minimum Rental Duration:
The minimum rental period is 1 day.
Fuel Policy:
The renter is responsible for fueling the vehicle during the rental period and must return the vehicle with the same fuel level as at the start of the rental. No refunds will be provided for excess fuel.
Lease Extensions:
If the renter wishes to extend the rental period, they must notify the company at least 24 hours before the scheduled return. Extensions are subject to vehicle availability.
Vehicle Replacement:
In the event of an accident or defect that renders the vehicle inoperable, a replacement vehicle will be provided within 24 hours of the incident report. FAST AND EASY RENT A CAR reserves the right to investigate and may refuse a replacement if it is determined that the vehicle was used in violation of the terms of this agreement.
Change of Vehicle Type:
The company reserves the right to substitute the reserved vehicle with another of a similar category, subject to availability.
Taxes:
All rental prices include 24% VAT.

Optional:
- GPS: €3 per day (subject to availability)
Other Obligations
The renter is responsible for maintaining the vehicle’s condition during the rental period, including monitoring mechanical levels (oil, water) and checking tire conditions to ensure safe operation. Any damage resulting from negligence will be charged to the renter. The vehicle must be securely locked when unattended. If the vehicle is returned more than 2 hours later than the agreed time, the renter will be charged for an additional full day.
Usage Restrictions:
During the rental period, the vehicle may not be used for:
- Any purpose in violation of this agreement.
- Commercial transport of passengers or goods.
- Carrying more passengers than specified in the rental agreement.
- Transporting heavy, hazardous, or illicit materials.
- Towing another vehicle or trailer.
- Participation in organized car races.
- Operation by anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Use by any individual not authorized by FAST AND EASY RENT A CAR.
- Any purpose that contravenes Greek law.
- Travel outside Crete without prior written consent from the company.
FAST AND EASY RENT A CAR is not liable for any loss or damage to personal belongings left in the vehicle, regardless of whether such items were abandoned before or after the rental period. The company reserves the right to cancel the rental agreement without penalty if the renter is deemed a risk to the company’s interests or fails to comply with traffic regulations and the terms of this agreement. Any disputes arising from this lease shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts in Chania.
Insurance Provisions
The rental includes the following insurance coverages:
- Bodily Injury Liability for third parties and passengers.
- Property Damage Liability for third parties.
- Coverage for damage caused by an uninsured vehicle.
- Fire and Theft Insurance.
- Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) with a €500 excess.
Additional Insurance Options and Costs
- Glass Breakage Insurance: €3.00 per day.
- Full Insurance (FCDW): Additional charge of €13.00 per day (subject to availability and confirmation by the company).
- Additional Insurance: €6.00 per day with a €250 excess.
Insurance Exclusions:
The insurance does not cover:
- Damage to the interior, undercarriage, or tires.
- Incidents involving a driver under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Damage caused by unauthorized drivers.
- Loss, damage, or theft of vehicle keys.
- Damage incurred on unauthorized roads (e.g., beaches, unsuitable terrains, or mountainous routes).
- Engine damage resulting from incorrect fuel usage.
- Damage or theft resulting from illegal parking or failure to secure the vehicle.
By signing this agreement, the renter acknowledges acceptance of these insurance provisions and assumes responsibility for any accidents involving third parties, thereby releasing FAST AND EASY RENT A CAR from any liability.
Transaction Security
All card payments are processed through the “Alpha e-Commerce” platform provided by Alpha Bank, utilizing TLS 1.2 encryption (128-bit SSL) to ensure the secure transmission of sensitive data.
